The Acceptable Use Policy has been implemented by the school division to guide the use of technology by student, faculty, and staff. 

Five-Year Technology Plan

Highlights of the Five-Year Technology Plan include:  

  • Ongoing technology equipment replacement and bandwidth for existing network.
  • Upgrade of wireless infrastructure to respond to increasing instructional devices and use.
  • Provide a portable device for all teachers.
  • Provide devices for secondary students beginning with middle schools in FY2021.

The road to digital learning - Year One - Professional development, middle school teacher device deployment, additional support staff, upgrades to bandwidth in schools, and WiFi upgrades in middle schools. Year Two - Elementary and high school teacher device deployment, WiFi upgrades in high schools, bandwidth upgrades, device & content evaluation, and professional development. Year Three - Professional development, WiFi upgrades in elementary schools, and additional support staff. Year Four - Additional support staff, middle school student device deployment, WiFi upgrades in elementary schools, and professional development. Year 5 - High school student device deployment, annual replacement of devices, and professional development.

Chromebook Device Loss and Damage

We recognize that accidents can happen. In an effort to minimize expenses to the school division and families, the below table explains the potential costs to families in the event of intentional damage, negligence, loss or theft of a student device.
